I think this is my favorite song off the new album. I wasn’t paying attention to the lyrics on my first listen and legit thought it was a cover of a classic boy band song until the metal hits.

It’s just the way work has played out for us right now. A couple servers are being decommed at the end of the month, so it’s priority. I work on team of about 14 people and we use Azure dev ops for work items and sprint planning. The way we do it is once you finish a task, you grab the next available item in sprint rather than cherry picking. I’ve just been a bit unlucky in my timing. We do have some projects in the works that will be hitting us soon, and some new implementations, so I yea, it’s likely I’ll be writing actual code again in the near future.

At our company, when the price increase hit, we moved to AVD. It was cheaper and the reliability has been significantly better.

I really enjoy programming, and i don’t mind all of the planning, mentorship, and working with stakeholders to formulate solutions. But for the past few weeks 90% of the work I’ve been doing had been around deployment, migrating services to new servers, and fucking with azure resources. I haven’t written a line of code for 3+ weeks. That has been draining.

Couple that with picking up work items that are poorly written with way to little information on what needs doing and it’s also frustrating as hell.

At my company, we have dozens, probably over one hundred different repos that we maintain, and no less than 30 actively worked on projects. It’s bitter sweet in that I get a good mix of work to break up the monotony of working on the same project, but at the cost of not being able to master any of them. I’ve only been in my role for 6-8 months coming from a non programming background, and it’s been tough to learn and keep up with the pace required. Being full stack is nice but shitty at the same time.

I think most of their music videos are pretty good, but I’ve always liked this one the most I think.

It has literally never happened to me over the past decade short of rounding up for charity. Can they? Yes, it could be programmed in, but I’ve never experienced it.

In many cases, I am faster than the available cashiers at my local grocery store, because they’re old. Also depending on what I’m buying, idc how my stuff is bagged so I can just throw it in a single bag and go vs them taking 3 bags to do the same thing.

But to me, the main reason to use self checkout is that I don’t have to interact with anyone. No conversation, no upsells, just me and a machine. The only reason I’ll go to a cashier is if I have a lot of stuff or if I’m buying alcohol.

Which also happens to be the middle eastern hemisphere countries.

Yes, literally in the post you responded to where you gave empty platitudes. I didn’t go straight to assumptions. I asked a question and you skirted around it like in every other response in here.

Suspicion culture is something you just made up. You make a claim, I asked for details around it, and you deflected. Yea, people are going to be suspicious when someone comes off as trolling and won’t support their claims with specifics.

Europe is only in the middle because that’s where the prime meridian is at. Everyone uses the same longitude and latitude and the hemispheres are the same for everyone. It’s definitely in the middle third of the Eastern hemisphere.

The counteies like Iraq, Iran, and the Stans are just west of 90E. They could be considered West Middle East, but they’re closer to the middle than either edge of the hemisphere.

The terms near east, middle east, and far east are labeled as such because of their position relative to the prime meridian, which runs through Europe.

The prime meridian runs through western Europe. Most of Europe would be in the near East, relative to that point. China is on the far east of the hemisphere. They are fair labels based on their position to the prime meridian.

It’s East of the prime meridian and it’s in the middle of the Eastern hemisphere. It is strictly defined by geography.
