Feels like it’s a dog whistle most of the time and not a very good one. I’ve seen people assuming that someone isn’t here legally much more often with someone of a different race. A lot of the time people will bring it up for the sake of racism. Inherently? I don’t know if it would be racist to oppose them for it’s own sake, but you’d have to have just as much a problem with the German guy overstaying a visa. I’d also say that opposing it for it’s own sake is unchristian.

Is this even thinking in this quarter? It just feels like a mistake.

For a few years the US pushed anti corruption measures in Ukraine along with the rest of the world. Under Obama we pushed a chief attorney who refused to prosecute a corporation to resign. Unfortunately some people left out parts of the story where he was delaying the case. It was the corporation hunter Biden worked for so while it countered corruption, it looked bad if you didn’t know he was stalling the case. Some people never mentioned that detail. Now we have a new leader who revels in the corruption openly.

I’ve just figured out that people like llms because they are just as gullible as they are.

This is treating Twitter as a pornographic website, which the new French law puts more requirements on. If it was just a “I am over 18” button, I don’t think pornhub would pull out(pun unintended). It’s easy to bypass with a VPN or tor, but are you going to pull that out just to doom scroll for a hate fix? Maybe, but that’s a choice a lot of people are going to have to make.

That’s our own fault though. The number 1 demographic causing drunk driving accidents was people 18 to 21. Making it so that they couldn’t drink in bars made them more likely to stay home to drink.

There was a show almost ten years ago were a black comedian went to racist groups to live with them for a day or a week or so. It actually had surprisingly little drama, maybe helped change some minds. Obviously it wasn’t very successful as a show.

In one episode he was living with a couple who absolutely denied the Holocaust. Towards the end the guy and his girlfriend were going back and forth agreeing on how much they didn’t believe it happened, until the girl said something like “I don’t think it happened but you know… It should have”. The man seemed a little shocked by that. It ended with the comedian and the racist talking things out and it at least seemed the guy was in thought.
