No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Avocado. Is it really so untasty or I am doing something wrong?
4·3 months agoHere it is strange to eat it savory, we do see it more like a fruit. Just recently we started to use it to make guacamole because of mexican restaurants influence.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Never understood this. If something foreign enters you your white blood cells go after it like a dog in heat, Would this not mean that our cells are smart enough to discern bad from good?
7·4 months agoAs far as I know, white blood cells move independently, crawling like amoebas or “millipedes” along vessel walls to reach infection sites. They use special adhesive “legs” to move at high speeds, even swimming in liquid using molecular “paddles”. WBCs actively exit blood vessels, following chemical signals to damaged tissue.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•You always have to analyse a person's internet post about themselves or their life the same way you read a book written with an unreliable narrator
2·5 months ago100%! I just assume everybody is 12 year olds screwing around…
I’m worried that mods here are starting to abuse their power as have happened on Reddit and have seen some instances of it. A lot of people fled Reddit because of it and will not stick around for the same bullshit here.
So making mechanisms to prevent this kind of behavior must be a priority.
