I’m curious about this but I’m also not buying it in the slightest.

I mostly agree with you!
My personal experience with very expensive knives, and I’m telling you I have had some very expensive knives because my brother used to be a chef…
Not worth it. Not to me. My kitchen is a dynamic place, I need to throw things around, let them clatter around in the sink… I have had a chip out of every one of my $400+ knives within 4 weeks of owning them.
I’m done with “good” knives. Cheap German steel for this boy for life. Lol

In 1997 a company I worked for “lost” a month of fully rendered 3D video. Big deal you’re saying, but 30 days of a rendering farm in 1997 was worth a couple hundred thousand dollars.
Somebody formatted the drive by accident.
This shit happens all the time, it’s appallingly common. I guarantee some idiot somewhere in the chain of command said no we are not budgeting $1,000 for a couple RAID arrays or backup drives

It was only very recently you could even look at your own games library. The ecosystem couldn’t/wouldn’t tell you if you owned a game or not.
They have zero social integration features and it’s 2026.
Anybody who defends them is delusional, EPIC are absolute garbage, they are not competing with Valve despite what people keep saying. There is no competition.

It might launch in negative time for all I care, but when I scroll down and it takes 30 seconds to load a fucking 128px PNG of the box art… Yeah sorry still useless.

He was recently quoted in an article saying that in order to be successful, games need to launch on the Steam platform.

You are completely correct in your position here, I absolutely cannot comprehend the level of delusional pushback.
And I’m not talking out my ass, I was rocking over a million views a month at one point.
The channel owner even outright admits he just thought he could get away with consciously breaking the terms. After already having received two previous strikes. Well whoops-a-daisy, he didn’t get away with it.
It is inarguable that this person brought this on themselves.
I don’t really need to hear everybody’s side-grievances about big businesses and enshittification as those are a complete red herring; The person deserved it and he shot himself in the foot.
Empathy for the loss. ZERO sympathy.

Shut the fuck up, you have no idea what you’re talking about, you are not funny, you are not clever, nothing about your existence here is justified, and your presence in my life is a waste.

The wheel sharpeners are absolutely the sweet spot combination of speed/efficiency/performance… As long as you are willing to accept a little more knife degradation. And you must hone them immediately after otherwise you’re doomed to having the edges fold. Otherwise yes, I am mostly a hone user to keep cutting tools primed.
Anybody that tries to tell me there’s some magic to knives is wayyyyy out there; Too baffled by all the bullshit online to understand that keeping a knife usable is extremely simple, when you focus on the couple key techniques that actually matter.
I freehand cut this hasselback potato with a $5 knife after sharpening it. This is proof I am not just ass-shouting like most self-styled knife “pros”. The biggest technique to understanding knife care is not listening to idiots, but how to know who’s an idiot and who’s not? It isn’t easy for the average person.

Shut the hell up.
The rationalizing is off the charts in this thread, do not try to understand, there is no consistency.

You’re needing to understand that the cloud of pfps is grown adult pedos coming to lecture sane people.

The only correct response to you right now is “shut the hell up”.

“hones are bad for a knife”
Brother, I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but you understand absolutely nothing about knives and you should never try to talk about them again.

It was sort of proven more than 40 years ago that there’s no point to do any of these rituals. You’re just have to wait for the gas to reabsorb. The tapping rituals basically give time for that to happen and act as a placebo for the person so time can elapse.

Become convinced that purchasing an expensive knife and spending half of your life fucking around to keep it sharp and protected is a good investment of your time.
Buy a $10 German steel chef knife on sale, get a rada QuickSharp and a (e: Victorinox 14 inch) chef hone and get on with life.

It’s 2026 and the store, and the launcher function like a prototype that I would cobble together in 2 hours.

Nah. This is the “Russian bot traffic” misunderstanding all over again.

Write a letter to the lead singer of Anvil, tell him that it’s time to give it up & hire a fucking songwriter.
