Sorry, I no longer own one. Had one a few years ago tho and was very happy with it. I used to mostly sideload books via calibre through a cable connection but I’d be surprised if it wasn’t feasible via WiFi. IIRC I put an android launcher on it so was also able to use the browser to download directly from various free books sites.

Never tried via WiFi, I just use calibre. But you probably can, it’s rich with features.

My insurance provider has already replaced all of its customer service staff with AI. As I found out when I tried to ask them a question the other day. I’m changing insurance companies.

And there will only be bots looking at it.

Yeah, the NSA proved that when their exploits leaked. Eternal blue and I’m sure they have a much more stuff we can only guess at.

Fuckin lobsters.
I mean vultures. Same thing really.

Baron Harkonnen, from the David Lynch dune film.

I mean, I’ve never tried VR but I’m probably going to buy a steam frame whenever they arrive. But part of the reason for that is I live in a small space with no room for a big screen and there’s some non VR games I want to try on a screen bigger than my steam deck.

My work just got a fleet of electric iveco vans and they are shit. Constantly breaking down, having battery issues, fatal error messages all the time. Seems like maybe it’s more software issues than hardware, and they’re lovely when they’re actually working.

And meanwhile, consumers have to sell a kidney if they want to upgrade their devices.

Yeah right, especially with handheld devices becoming increasingly popular. The steam deck was by best purchase by far, in terms of fun per pound spent. And there’s much more powerful alternatives out there now.

Wow, that looks gorgeous! I’m in a different situation, because everything has to be in pots. You can see the lavender in the foreground just getting going, the orange flowers are mostly calendula and California poppies. The tree is a cherry - looks like it’ll fruit this year! And I’ve got a couple of bonsai apples. Tomatoes and chillies are still germinating, I’ve got a tiny greenhouse for them.
The red flower is a rose, first of the season. Tulips are pretty much finished, and daffodils are looking gone. I’ve done gladioli on the way tho. With so much stuff and so little space I have to feed them, I use an organic seaweed thingie.

I think at a certain point it becomes about power and money is just a way they measure it

Honestly, my gaming laptop. Bought a few years ago, 3050. It was good and I could play games on it - but I live in a situation where all my electricity is solar generated and limited, charges 12v batteries and runs mains appliances via inverter. And the laptop was just too power hungry for long gaming sessions.
It was more a failure of me to properly research than a problem with the product, but was a let down. Bought a steam deck and never looked back.

You too? I don’t have any soil so my garden is all in pots, but it’s doing good. The tulips were glorious - I love a tulip - my first rose flowered yesterday, my opium poppies are thriving, and my tomato seeds finally germinated.
These days I only use a computer for minimum essential work stuff, and my steam deck. I work outdoors too. I have less money but I’m fitter and happier.
Edit - if you’re into soil science, two words - compost toilet. Total game changer.

I kinda suspect those voting machines in the swing states had something to do with it too.

Lol I quit reddit a couple of years ago when they did the API thing. Recently went on there cos I was googling some game stuff that led me there - and I found that the account that was logged in had been banned. I hadn’t commented or voted out even really been there for 2 years and somewhere in that time I earned a ban, somehow. Gotta laugh.
