I’m thinking when human populations reach excessive densities, some plague will come along and thin us out. We’re probably in that zone already.

Yeah. You don’t wanna carry all your eggs in one basket.
Also, it’s human nature to explore. Show people a place they can’t go and they’re going to want to find a way to get there. It’s just what we do. We’re curious little monkeys.

Yeah, I have a steam deck and I’ve used the desktop a few times, just to check stuff out, but I very easily could have overlooked it completely. It’s perfectly possible for a linux computer to be as easy to use as a console.

Yeah right, I played the last of us for the first time recently and can’t imagine quitting before the end. I guess it depends on whether the game grips you or not. There’s plenty of games I’ve tried for a few hours and given up on.
I’d say this could apply to a lot of new cars too. But yeah, it feels pretty unusual to see an industry shit the bed like this.

I would have gone with dying cat, but otherwise seems like reasonable reporting of an utter shit show.

Yeah same, less than I thought : 1445, but I’m pretty sure that includes my OLED steam deck. Savings a little over 2k.

Seems to me that maintenance would be significant.

Really? Well that sounds mostly good news to me! Early access divinity would be exciting. And yeah, I know divinity 2 is an older game, I’m expecting to have some issues with it but I’ll certainly give it a try.
TBH baldur’s gate 3 has been the first game of this type I’ve played. Was never into D&D stuff, so I’m not really aware of what could be better or different. I’m only just now learning that I enjoy games like this!
Yeah, right. I seem to be a slow player too - at the mo I’m 160 hours into baldur’s gate 3 and still only just in act 2. I think Amy multiplayer game with me in it would be frustrating for everyone. I prefer doing my own thing at my own pace.

I’ve not yet played divinity 2, currently playing baldur’s gate 3 for the first time and really enjoying it. So I’m actually kind of excited for divinity 3. Looks like it’s a couple of years away anyway tho.

Yeah, a lot of people wait a few months for the bugs to be ironed out.

I mean, it’s not likely to run on the steam deck and that’s my only gaming device, so. . .

Honestly, if there are jobs that could best be replaced by AI, it seems that management could be high on that list. I’m sure many of us have had shitty managers and know how disastrous that can be for productivity. In some cases an algorithm would definitely have done better. It could hardly have done worse.

Nah, not really. Would be nice to see more people on the smaller subs, but that’ll happen slowly.

I have much less screen time now as an adult. But games have grown in every way and are now a legitimate art form. It’s hard to say if I had more fun playing jet set willy on my 48k Sinclair spectrum, or playing cyberpunk on my steam deck. Both were great, in different ways.

Yeah, nostalgia is a big thing here. Past experiences that were amazing just don’t hold up compared to modern tech. In most cases anyway, some stuff is fairly timeless.
I’ve come into contact with a lot of rough sleepers through work, and many of them tend to be hoarders. But not hoarding useful things, just rotting crap they’ve found wherever, then it’s left out in the weather and infested with bugs, real nasty shit. I’ve had to clear up abandoned encampments and it is grim. I think maybe there’s something about not having a home that makes some people more inclined to surround themselves with stuff, they maybe find some sense of security in it. Of course, often it’s bottles of piss and dirty needles too.
