Hobosexual?! Sounds classist if you ask me.

That was definitely a man with a bone to pick. Good on him!

Are you harvesting and/or selling the user data you collect for this app?

What the hell are you talking about, Jesse?

I don’t think they care about monetizing the output, but only about not being sued by the output and making other need to pay 1B to Disney before releasing models. Basically they run out of moat, and now they’re creating an artifical moat.

The inevitable follow-up of their OpenAI deal. Make a deal with a big GenAI company to get precedent for them licensing your copyrights, then go against everyone else who doesn’t have such a deal. Now it’s up to see who bribed Trump the most.

Daym, Tool as the trailer music was kinda cool

It’s a classic move by an established party. Use your momentum to add increased costs for compliance, increasing the entry costs and making it impossible for smaller and freer players to compete. It’s away of pulling the ladder behind them. Openai didn’t have to pay this, until they got big enough to have the money for it. Now everyone else will be expected to do so as well no matter how small they are.

Unlike the dot-com bubble era, where regular people invested in many shady companies that essentially robbed them, these AI investors know what they’re doing. I’m not seeing any kind of deception here.
Lol. Lmao even
You can only interact with mastodonians if they interact with something on the threadiverse first. If they leave a comment on a lemmy post, you can reply to them, but due to the way they expect federation to work, they will not announce it to the instance hosting the comm you’re in, so if you’re from a different instance than the comm, only people in your own instance will see any replies to your comment coming from mastodon.

Lol when this inevitably get backdoored/exploited, it’s gonna be glorious

It’s actually the blessing of not being big enough to attract their attention
I wanted to move my /r/piracy subreddit to lemmy and I wanted to ensure a pirate & anarchist friendly instance. So I made my own.

shakes fist tenchikeeeeeeeeen!!!

Ye we’re not relying on cloudflare for precisely this reason. So much of the “decentralized” internet just got brought down by one providing failing.
took much of lemmy.world down. I wonder how come I’m seeing some posts from lemmy.worlders though
Never heard the term before. I assumed it was a typo
