This is my biggest lament about getting a 2060 without knowing how important vram is. I can make it perform better and more efficiently a bunch of different ways, but to my knowledge, I can’t get around the 6GB vram wall.

but all of us know that it’s just not gonna happen.
Certainly not by Bethesda, but in truly typical fashion, Bethesda games are are held together and made fun by modders (and sometimes, even fully built, as is the case with Enderal). Only trouble is that can take a wild and/or completely unknown amount of time.
Said it before and I’ll say it again: It’s crazy to me that tone centric fonts never happened. Tone is wildly important in all language, but there’s basically no good way to convey tone via text without stating the tone like some Newspeak shit. Meanwhile, we have all these rad fonts just hanging out on the proverbial bench, going totally unused, but I’m cursed to see and use exclusively good Times New Roman, plusgood Helvetica, and doubleplusgood Arial. Literally 1984.
/hyperbole (but I really do think it would be a fun idea and I demand a hyperbole font).
The Plagiarian theorem is a real bummer.
Hey, dunno if you figured it out yet, but creating folders is done in the pear launcher settings (I get to the settings by a “pear actions” widget set to pear settings). From there, it’s app drawer > folders > then you can make new folders and add stuff to them.
To the best of my knowledge, Pear Launcher can do everything you’re asking for. I haven’t used nova in a while, but from what I recall of it, the free version of pear launcher is far more feature rich than nova.
No worries. It’s not a huge deal to use redragon software, and I poked around a bit with openrgb and set up some cool goodies from the plugins they do have (most notably setting an rgb light in my Mobo to scale with my GPU temps. Totally unnecessary, but very cool!)
Do you happen to have a link or some kind of point in the right direction? I couldn’t find any macro plugins for openrgb on their site, and a web search is proving unhelpful as well.
As a separate download or built in? Any idea if it works with redragon stuff? Redragon software is fucking awful, only nice thing about it is that I almost never have to use it.
Protip: set up a macro to type out site:reddit.com if you can’t be fucked to type after every search.
lol I worked at a professional theatre for 5 years (and theatres in general for way longer) and you seem like you’re more well versed than I am.
Interesting point about Les Mis and Phantom. I enjoyed Les Mis the last time I saw it, but that was ages ago, during a time that I also liked Phantom (I still like a few songs in phantom, but hoo boy there’s a lot of grossly problematic themes in it). Phantom with a high budget can be a blast to watch though, from a technical standpoint. I saw it once in Las Vegas. The chandelier was in 3 pieces hanging above the audience seating, and it slowly lit up and came together above the stage during the overture. It was fucking crazy to see. (awful audio warning: I found a terrible quality video on youtube!)
Haven’t seen Wicked, Cats or Hamilton (or basically any broadway show. I’m a heretic, I know lol), so I can’t comment on those. I haven’t seen Evil dead: the Musical, but I’ve wanted to for ages. I’m big on Horror movies, and the Evil Dead movies are all wild.
I’m glad you mentioned Moulin Rouge. That movie is so fucking incredible. El Tango De Roxanne has lived rent free in my head since I first saw it and I’m honestly so glad about it.
As for recommendations to check out:
Sweeney Todd. The 2007 movie with Johnny Depp is great (and very bloody) but I’ve seen a few renditions of it live and it’s honestly always a great show. Checks a lot of boxes for me (good tunes, dystopian, and a surprisingly heavy story given that the theme is often horror-comedy-esqe).
Urinetown. Been a while since I’ve seen it, but it’s a great satirical musical (it makes jabs at a ton of stuff, but it’s mostly aimed at capitalism in general).
Little Shop of Horrors. This one has a special place in my heart because it’s the first musical I worked on in highschool that I actually enjoyed. Not much to say, it’s just a fun show.
What kind of musicals do you like? I don’t generally care for musicals as much as other play formats, but I got to see some real fun ones when I was a backstage tech at a theatre.
The Wiz is absolutely amazing though.
What model, and could I get your opinion/recommendation on them? I’ve had a pair of “JBL Tune 760NC” headphones for a few months now and they’re okay, but the noise cancelling isn’t nearly as good as I’d hoped.
You could check out Sidebery (Firefox addon) (A note: I use it with Floorp, a fork of Firefox built around user control. Floorp link)
Ton of features and very nuanced customization (you can change pretty much all minutia of its UI, which is a huge plus over other stuff I used). Some noteworthy features I like:
Vertical tab bar with collapsible parent/child tabs
Tab Grouping, which seems to be functionally the same as workspaces
Unload or refresh tabs or groups en masse easily
Customizable new tab buttons. ie: you can have “new tab”, “new private (or other container) tab”, and “new lemmy.world tab” all at once.
Customizable movement of tabs to specific Tab Groups based on domain and/or container. ie: I have a “Media” tab group, and I set it up so any domain from youtube.com or dropout.tv automatically get moved from other tab groups over to “Media”
There’s more, but those are the points that I find the most useful.
First I’m hearing of Tiny10 and starting to consider my options for jumping ship on windows. Anyone willing to give a short rundown/ weigh their opinions of linux/windows/other OSes. Video games are the main factor for me, with user control a very close second.
As much as I so dearly love the word scallywag, it already has an extremely rigid place in my vocabulary as a cat-exclusive term.
No firsthand experience (yet. Subject to change soon though) but i’ve heard reports across the board that switch emulation is often superior to actual switch performance. I heard plenty of times that Pokemon scarlet/violet can run at 60 fps with no dips at all, where my switch struggled to hit 30 in some areas.
Honestly, thigh highs + hoodie + “is there any clothes under that hoodie?” is peak fashion.
(at the risk of making a truly stupid joke)
You could wear some pants instead of trying to cover it with just a hoodie.
Honestly, just go the full 9 lives and become a cat.
