Whoa now save some for the rest of us
Whoa now save some for the rest of us
My favourite is when you have a friend, or known reviewer, going on about how something sucks, and you realise that it sounds right up your alley.
I specifically rented The One, because of Roger Ebert’s 1 and 1/2 star review in the newspaper, trashing Jet Li’s The One (just to totally date myself).
Peerless vibes.
I mean it’s super dark, but it’s so slick
My partner rewatches that as like a comfort movie. I always found it so dark and hopeless and disconcerting. It really felt like a vision of hell when I first saw it.
Although I’ve caught parts of it while she’s watching so often that I’ve become a bit desensitized, so I can appreciate it for it’s merits more. It is a great movie.
I did and it worked. That or I install an app timer/blocker thing (they all behave p much the same).
Gradually I start thinking I don’t need to restrain myself anymore and my usage creeps back up until I smack it back down.
Circle of life innit
It is unnecessary.
Just become someone that doesn’t really make a big todo about their birthday. It’s so liberating.
I turned 40 not long ago and I couldn’t tell you what I did. Probably bought myself a box of doughnuts.
It’s also okay to be weird about your birthday. Lots of people are. Just do whatever feels right.
It’s not right, but I’ll admit the instance someone is from has an impact.
Just finishing up Episode 4 of the Quake remaster on nightmare difficulty. Episodes 1-3 were challenging, but my god these exploding bouncy ball “spawns” in E4 are such rage fuel.
Only 3 more levels then I move on to the expansions. First time playing those, so looking forward to it!
As a forum user I agree, but would like to add that many forums do have a kind of “demerit point” system for incivility. Where racking up enough points gets you temporarily muted or banned.
My instance requires that users say a little about why they want to join. Works just fine.
If someone isn’t willing to introduce themselves, why would they even want to register? If they just want to lurk, they can do so anonymously.
EDIT I just noticed we’re from the same instance lol, so you definitely know what I’m talking about 😆
I think you’d work your way in naturally, same as any community throughout all of history.
I suppose an outsider might not be able to tell a web of trust that’s only bots trusting eachother, so you still have to think critically about what you read
This folk doesn’t even grample lmao but seriously amp me on stunkyr
Speak for yourself
Now this is the kind of calling out we can get behind
I’m just shocked that there are marketing departments that actually know what they’re doing. Granted I haven’t worked for any huge companies, so that’s probably why I have difficulty picturing it.
I know I shouldn’t have even started, but I did, quitting smoking and drinking. It was really, really hard.
I just don’t have time to invest in learning a new operating system.
That’s fair. I got turned on to Linux in college so this is how I feel when confronted with Windows or Mac devices. I just get so frustrated every time I try, and it doesn’t seem like the end result is worth it if I can just stick with what works and not have to worry about some random update radically and inexorably altering how my computer works.
I’ll be the judge of that. What are your data points?
