I have never though about it that way, it is an interesting thought.
I believe, that some people put on that Covid denialism because they are unable to face the truth out of fear. And every mask is a reminder of that fear. I don’t have proof, but I know people who work that way with a lot of things, from climate to covid to Russia.
You are right, but why rely on a single method of protection? Vaccinations are good, but not perfect.
Think of it as using a condom despite being on birth control pills: you are not just unlikely, but really really unlikely to get pregnant and it also protects from stds.
Sometimes it’s easier to check ChatGPT’s answers, ask follow up questions, look at the sources it provides and live with the occasional hallucinations than to sift through the garbage pile that google search has become.

It is. But it is open source and the encryption is solid. All communication data is end-to-end encrypted. They have been subpoenaed before and all they could provide was when the account was first registered and when it was last used. The signal protocol is well documented and open source. The foundation and LLC behind it are registered in California and are run by reputable people.
Telegram is run by shady people, supposedly out of Dubai, while it is registered in the British Virgin Islands. Its clients are also open source, however the encryption, if enabled, is of the home cooked variety, although it was improved over time. Unfortunately it is not enabled by default, you need to enter a „secure chat“ for that, which only works with single contacts, not with groups. Despite having access to everything else, and working like a social media-messenger-hybrid, telegram is very reluctant to get rid of clearly illegal content.
I have a similar setup and in the end just went for a cheap chinese („ESKEVE“) 4x HDMI 2.0 KVM switch that supports 4K60. No problems except HDR does not work properly, which is not useful on my monitor anyway. Laptops are on USB-C docks with HDMI 2.0 out, PC uses a passive DP to HDMI cable.

Just fyi, the sedation is usually not medically necessary. I have had it (as well as a colonoscopy) done without, just got a spray to numb the throat for a short while. It’s not pleasant, but I found it bearable and it’s much nicer to just walk out and drive home on your own. If necessary I could still have told/signaled that I want sedation after all during the procedure. Propofol works within less than a minute. In that case they would have called someone to pick me up.
That said, I do live in Germany, so money does not play as big a role as in the US when it comes to healthcare. And the doctors and their staff were exceedingly nice and caring.
Maybe, if you believe you can bear it, and if acid reflux does not make it painful, ask to do it without sedation next time.
And his promises are not worth very much.
