Yeah, SCIENCE BITCH!
Have you read Vonnegut? Best give it a go.
Cat’s Cradle is my favorite but Slaughterhouse-Five is about as good as it get in regards to overall wtf is going on here, and really explorers this idea of reality being something totally different then what we think. And do make sure to check out The Sirens of Titan for the alien zoo parts

3·3 months agoI’m working in server all day anyway. Licences are not a issue with most desktop software that we use. We have almost unlimited access to the Microsoft catalog with a combination of our subscriptions. As a system administrator doing what I do, it’s not much different from ltsc except I have to use a couple of local group policies so I’m not badgered by system prompts

Server has its own set of problems but at least the tools to deal with them are prepackaged

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why is bicycle riding so controversial in America?
10·3 months agoi don’t get it either. i prefer road bikes. I used to commute 14 miles a day in Seattle and I loved the hell out of it. Motorists are usually the worst kind of bike haters.
I didn’t notice much hate from other types of cyclists but one of my friends in Portland Oregon would call me lame for needing two wheels. he would unicycle everywhere. even mt biking! he once won some crazy competition from a unicycle mud race!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Please help me under stand my spouse's gift and their hurt
12·3 months agoshe wants that thing that you use all the time to be from her, while she watches you use the new one and to give it the age that shows all the wear and tear that you will put into it
she probably respects that you respect and cherish the old one and maybe she doesn’t want you to go without if it fails which all things will do in time
maybe you should put the old one in place that lets you see it as a trophy or momento while you use the new one and enjoy the gift your love has gifted to you
