Yeah, this is just a student-run association running it, providing connection from university’s upstream ISP which apparently is easy to upset.
I posted this because I actually find this nice, as it doesn’t fully block torrents, but just specific ones, and they also make that clear. They could just block torrents and stay safe.

Func fact: Some dorm rooms apparently actually have 2.5Gbit. I’ve seen the speed test. Of course, you’ll need a compatible network card. Most have “only” a gigabit.

And then you can just get a burner SIM. I was able to activate Giffgaff (UK), Lifecell (UA) and T-Mobile (CZ) SIM cards abroad, and none of those need ID. Although I don’t know if it does apply country restrictions to those as well.

Not in my college. They have plenty of IP addresses to not use NAT, i.e. every user gets their public IPv4, and authentication is done with WPA2-Enterprise, i.e. unique login.
Everything is immediately traceable.

I am talking about Slovakia. That’s just what I remember seeing. Currently only Orange plans 2G shutdown, and that is for 2028.

From the public documents I could find, it seems 2G is going to be mandatory until 31.12.2028, however only Orange has said something about its shutdown publicly so far.

I only used their quick tunnels for some testing as it doesn’t need a domain and natively runs under Termux. For that at least it worked fine.
But I probably wouldn’t use them for anything serious. Typically you’re doing everything to avoid MITM, and now this is just the opposite of that.

This is why we still have 2G I heard. Telling regular customers to upgrade from 3G was easy. Like, what are they gonna do about it. But 2G is used by a lot of IoT devices, including gas and electric companies, and they’re not upgrading that easily while I assume generating a significant revenue.
