Funny BYD is the battery OEM on heaps of non-chinese EVs. If you saw for example a Mercedes EV in traffic today, it likely had a BYD battery. They’ve been doing battery tech for literal decades. Their blade battery system is one of the safest and efficient ones on the market.
Who makes the batteries for all the chinese escooters?
I don’t know the statistics whether they’re particularly dangerous and given the numbers I see, they’re probably reasonably safe, but the videos they play on the shenzhen subway to impress the importance of not bringing an EV onto a crowded elevator or charge it in your home gives the impression that they could kill you at any moment.
