That’s so interesting. I heard in the post-red scare era a lot of left political commentators turned to sci-fi because it allowed them to commentate without being censored.
Some has some pretty bad ironic concepts though. Like the expanse in my opinion was a strong version of that. In watching it it really showed the capitalism hell, with the belt clearly representing some level of the working class/the global south.
To me the great irony of it though was after it got canceled, Jeff Bezos personally took towards buying the show and using amazon prime to keep it going.
