Denialism is like an abyss: you can toss your incredulities, your arguments, even the fact Japan is a trans nation, but you‘ll still be left with an abyss.

I am hopeful OP left twitter for good, but a cesspit is still a cesspit.

Lily from Zombie Land Saga, Mizuki from Project Sekai, Nox from Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night, and many others, I’m sure.

Watching japanese dudes keep writing cross dressing semi-gays as a punchline really feels more like an admission than a joke, in many cases being somewhat plot relevant in a really obtuse way to justify its exaggerated presentation.

I like Persona 4’s Kanji. They still make his ambigious sexuality the butt of jokes, but they give him an arc about tackling his sense of shame and leave it at a pretty open end. It’s a game from 2008, but the main thing is that he stops caring if someone’s a “dude or a chick” when it comes to attraction.

Yeah, it’s pretty aggravating, but I feel like they’ve been getting better on this in recent years as awareness spreads.

~Thinking about how Steins;Gate kept insisting that Rukako was a guy, even though she’s probably one of the most clear-cut trans women in anime.~

It’s like the trans version of acting like (fictional and/or historical) gay couples are just really close friends, who shared a house, bedroom, and bed, for their entire adult lives.

Or like a reverse egg. They’re in denial about someone else being trans lol
