What is the Venn diagram of “People who can’t stop arguing in online forums” and “People who have become addicted to obsequious, flattering LLM chats?”

Is there any overlap? Is it perfect overlap? Is it some boring in-between answer?

I feel like there’s little overlap. The rush you get from arguing is very different than the feeling of getting your ass kissed.

Well, I love arguing in online forums, but I find obsequious, flattering LLM chats to be extremely frustrating. Every once in a while I’ll try to use an LLM as a sounding board for a thought process I’m exploring, and I have to give up because instead of actually pushing back on anything it just tells me how smart I am for my genius argument. Like yes obviously I know that but it isn’t helpful. Even when I try to refine it to be actually adversarial, it doesn’t last long.

So the boring answer is that it’s definitely not a perfect overlap.
