The elevator is not happy, the elevator is nearing capacity if four people were to enter with the boulder.
depending on how heavy the boulder is. it could very well be enought by itself to overwelm the elevator or even distroy it.
True, if it were solid granite then half a cubic meter of the stuff could easily be 1300 lbs.
