It’s oriented point to point on the 1/4 hex because that dimension is longer than flat-to-flat. Not sure why SL8 is the way it is, it could be oriented point-to-point or flat-to-flat and still be in spec either way.

SL10 is a wider bit than SL8. It’s oriented point to point on the 1/4 hex because that dimension is longer than flat-to-flat. Not sure why SL8 is the way it is, it could be oriented point-to-point or flat-to-flat and still be in spec either way.
