I don’t mind that content getting copied here to be honest. If it’s a bot I’d like to know, but as long as bots make themselves known and don’t upvote anything I’m fine with it.
I think it’s insane that people want a bot reposting other people’s complaints from a mostly-OC community. It’s just ragebait at this point, no justifying it with “I needed to vent”
So thanks to this bot, we know that some people we’ll never interact with are infuriated by something. Cool. Great community idea.
This place was doing fine before the spambot showed up. More content doesn’t mean better content. Why must every site be a bucket to dump the same content from the last site into?
I don’t mind ≠ I want something. If it is about creating a great community you have two very wonderful tools: moderation and collective action. If multiple people in this community have negative feelings about this, either collectively act (downvote this kind of content, block this kind of posters etc) or set up rules that a moderator can use. Don’t do nothing yet expect everything to remain the same, that is madness.
For your own mental health, I would suggest you stop living in this sub.

Over 4k posts in 3 months, is at least 4,000 / 120 = 30 post per day.
They’re almost certainly just reposting everything from reddit. Might even be a bot.

There are down votes and comments so not sure? Might be a bot with a human occasionally logging into the account?
And over half their posts didn’t federate to your instance, interestingy enough.
well just looking at their profile on the home instance maybe 1/3 or more of the communities are unknown to my instance.
Also interesting, this account added 10 new posts since posting this one two hours ago. 2 of those posts where in this community.

Hence why I’ve left a lot of comments letting people know they’re responding to a bot.
A human runs the account but they claim they’re not a bot, they just have…automated posts set up. You know. Like a bot.
