Yeah, this was a rare day 1 buy for me on PC. Had zero issues other than a couple gameplay bugs that every game in existence at launch has. I never understood the uproar.
Console launch on the other hand I heard was rougher.
Seriously, I was a day one buyer and played it on a rebuilt $30 ps4 slim. No t poses or major glitches, I had one npc glitch that made a small side quest locked. But it really was a pretty enjoyable experience.
For some reason the text messages got desynched on my first playthrough (at launch), and by the time I figured out both what had happened and how to fix it (it was the quest where you tell the cop to back off an investigation?), i needed to start over to fix it.
YMMV, but PS4 on launch date was VERY rough. A pal called just to show how bad it was. We spent the evening just laughing at the million ways it was broken.
It was pretty catastrophic for some people, I had a good PC for it and my experience was middle of the road. Couldn’t get much past the heist before it became unplayable, cars falling from the sky, dying from stepping off a pavement and just losing the ability to turn the camera were all fairly frequent issues. Its a pretty fantastic game nowadays though you can still see the contrast between the care given to the prologue missions and the rest of the game.
It wasn’t that bad, people like to exaggerate.

It wasn’t too bad for me on a Xbox One X, but I think PlayStation had it worse. I just laughed at the bugs and kept going.

Yup! That’s the same side quest. I went to her apartment and she got stuck drawing down on me and just kept walking slowly with her gun drawn.
I loved the jank. It hit the sweet spot of being hilarious and didn’t break my game. There were a lot of fun things to do/ways to break stuff.
I honestly prefer playing builds from the first six months or so, compared to the current build.

It was glorious.
