The headline should read “US Citizen deported to Mexico by ICE returns after producing proof of US citizenship.”
The important subtext here is that being a citizen won’t save you from being deported from your own country under trump’s America. This example is proof-positive.
Also seemingly, the government doesn’t keep copies of any records.
Birth certs are state level, feds don’t keep them.
yeah but I’d wager he’d have an SSN that could be cross referenced easily with the state.
ICE doesn’t want to do the work, they just want to sweep and purge.
Pretty sure they could just ask nicely… But I guess up ending a citizen’s life while billing the taxpayers is probably easier!
