There’s very few people who have made it to where he is in the music industry who didn’t. Coming from a rich family who can support you while you focus on music full time drastically increases your chances.
Compensation in the music business is only adequate if you’re far out on the right tail of the distribution. Having backing from someone with deep pockets as you get to that point definitely helps.
