    I married one, and I’d never say that. Even after decades of marriage, having learned the language and having lived in the Middle East for years, there are still some unwritten norms and cultural differences that occasionally take each of us by surprise and lead to misunderstandings. We muddle through. Our kids are more fluently bicultural.
