In a world where Flock cameras are this frequent, a license plate is illegal compelled speech.
Well if nothing else this is catching some officers that don’t like to follow rules. But ALPR searches shouldn’t be allowed at all without a warrant.
At the very least, peer reviewed by a superior officer. Im sure most of them are corrupt too, but it adds a barrier to entry that makes conviction easier.
Take the fucking cameras away from them and they won’t be able to misuse them!
