I disagree. Most of the Americans I know fought against the Iraq war, they protested the banking bailouts, they didn’t support the torture program & they’re vehemently against the war in Iran. The guys I know will not accept the draft either.
Most (if not all) Americans I personally know are isolationists (no foreign intervention/entanglement).

Nothing will change until the USA reforms the education system from the ground up, and even then it’ll take a couple of generations at least. The owner class will resist that every step of the way.
Starting with the primary objective of American education being Critical Thinking Skills. It is how we properly think, and it takes training and practice, but it prepares us for literally everything in life, as well as giving us the intellectual tools to resist propaganda, which is the primary reason MAGAs want to literally ban the teaching Critical Thinking Skills. They claim it teaches young people to question authority figures, which it does.
They literally want to make stupidity an actual objective of the curriculum, to educate people to be more gullible and manipulable.
This is why all the hate at one man to me is meaningless. He’s a symptom, the issue is the rot of the general populace, the fact that he could get more than 5% of the vite at all shows how far we have fallen. It’s not one mans fault, it’s a society who is so selfish and ignorant that they vote in the most selfish ignorant leaders, and the most idiotic thing is that they truly believe someone just as selfish and ignorant as them will end up helping them, that they’ll be on the inside somehow. Instead we continue to spiral downward.

some of it, perhaps, is because America never fully reconciled its brutal origins or path to becoming a so-called ‘superpower’. nor have the people acknowledged the ongoing systemic violence enacted in America’s name.
progress is possible. America has made intermittent advances in civil rights and select areas where the public benefited. it isn’t all shit though it does feel that way at times.
The problems in American culture directly flow from conservatives, so the problems in our culture are also downstream of politics. Conservatives ended reconstruction, whipped up the populous into an anti-communism fervor, and helped push evangelicalism into the mainstream, all of which have real and massive impacts to this day.
The failure to follow through with the reconstruction allowed racism to cement it’s hold on the south, and the lost cause myth has helped spread that rot across the country. The push for anti-communism rotted the American psyche and helped push us to the hyper-capitalist consoomer mindset where everyone is encouraged to get that badly however possible. Evangelicalism has been the vehicle used over the last half to full century to steer the culture; look at how they turned abortion into a culture war from nothing in under a decade. That same playbook is in active use today against transgender people, and it’s the exact same one they used against the gays a few decades ago.

Where I have been an informed voter, I have always voted for the greater good, for the policies and politicians that at least claim to be focused on the well-being of the individual, vetted to the best of my abilities.
