I remember the first day taking ADHD meds (biphentin) and laughing to myself that immediately after taking I went back to bed and said “well I guess I do have ADHD”.
Concerta scared the shit out of me though. At that point I made th executive decision that I made it 40 years without meds. I can manage without them.
It’s such a sliding scale. I never thought I had until my son was diagnosed and I said “wait he gets a lot of this from me.” So I got diagnosed at 40. Hindsight I very clearly self-medicate with copious amounts of tea.
Also explains the drug abuse when I was younger, and the failed relationships.
Only thing I’m still working on is the relationships. I’m shit with them. Self sabotage constantly.
I’m convinced coffee is just a comfort drink and doesn’t actually do anything to me.

have adhd and yep. i can sleep when my ritalin kicks in, it boggles other people who use it to “stay awake.”
