I sleep eight hours and I still gotta drink an ungodly amount of coffee to stay awake. I think we might all just be being fucked.

Experiencing 4 hrs or less on sleep while working in construction, I forced myself to get more hours of sleep, or the coffee addiction will come back. Ill rather take the nicer option cause that shit is brutal🤣🤣

I’ve noticed it in multiple comments in this thread so I’ll just post a general ramble here.

I’ve noticed that people who “insist” they only get 4 hours of sleep a night are always eager to volunteer it like it’s something they’re proud of and simultaneously play the “god, I’m just miserable, why are you even asking?” Card when you react negatively to the comment that they volunteered.

4 hours of sleep per night is severe sleep deprivation. You will not be able to function at a school or a job after just a few nights of 4 hour sleeps. Some people can, but we’re getting into like <10% of people who would actually be able to keep it together and like <1% who might be able to last more than one week. So it makes sense to doubt claims of people who “only get 4 hours of sleep” or especially people who claim they pull all-nighters on the regular.

Although, to throw a bone, short sleepers are also well-documented as being unable to assess their own capabilities, as a function of lack of sleep, so there’s some explanation for why this behavior is so consistent.

I’m convinced coffee is just a comfort drink and doesn’t actually do anything to me.

I remember the first day taking ADHD meds (biphentin) and laughing to myself that immediately after taking I went back to bed and said “well I guess I do have ADHD”.

Concerta scared the shit out of me though. At that point I made th executive decision that I made it 40 years without meds. I can manage without them.

Often wondered, and I know they’re not the same as the real deal but online assessments always tell me I’m not 🤷

It’s such a sliding scale. I never thought I had until my son was diagnosed and I said “wait he gets a lot of this from me.” So I got diagnosed at 40. Hindsight I very clearly self-medicate with copious amounts of tea.

Also explains the drug abuse when I was younger, and the failed relationships.

Only thing I’m still working on is the relationships. I’m shit with them. Self sabotage constantly.

Well, nice seeing this after mysteriously waking up at 3 AM.

One cup won’t help, you need two.

Guess I will take my Concerta today and that might do something.

You literally can’t understate it, because I feel like shit and I want to die. Jkjk, I’ve had so much caffeine. That’s why I feel like shit and I want to die.

    Coffee makes me drowsy.

4 hours pretty average for me. Things get weird when I go down to 1.5 hours for a few days. If sleeo goes down to 1.5 hours for more than four days, I microdose indica so I can getup to six hours of restful sleep. Normally I’m back to my 4-5 after that for about a month.
