I think he already moved to Belgium to avoid some of the French taxes.

So apperently I am wrong. What would make a future France less of a police state and more democratic than now?

I agree with you that he should resign because he made a mess and does not follow the will of a majority of the French.
But as far as calling France a failed democracy that I do not agree with. A flawed democracy sure, but than again even a good democracy does not protect the people from making choices on flawed information or ignorance.

France is not a police state, I fully agree that the police is way too violent but that is not equal to a police state. France has many problemes but it is still a democracy and they can still vote for change.

It is not a fake democracy they just voted in an asshole.
I did know about Lisbon. I remember hearing the Swiss canton of Vaud had around 60% of it’s population was foreigners. Which resulted in the local Swiss no longer being able to afford any form of housing anymore.
No I get it is not the same but the problems are similar. Too many tourist in a city with too few houses and apartments that are now being used as bnbs.
So it is the same as in the rest of Europe with a helping of mass tourism so similar to Amsterdam and Paris.
From what I heard from my brother, he lives in Barcelona, they are banning bnbs and short term rentals. In order to combat this problem.

As much as I want to joke that it is the year of the Linux desktop, I think it is mostly because the younger you are the less likely you are to have a pc (so Windows, Mac, Linux and BSD for the dozens of you).
As far as I can see most of the time people use their phone for everything and only touch a pc for work or if they have a hobby that requires the use of a pc (gaming, digital art, music, programming, etc…).

The only thing it will do is turn off potential users because they either feel attacked for using a perfectly useable os or they do want want to be associated with the onmine culture around the os.

I am talking for handhelds which are treated as consoles so the underlying os or gui makes no difference. Unless it stops you from playing the game you like.
No one should tell you to leave an os if it works for you.

I am more thinking of the Valorant, League, Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc… players. Which are a majority of pc gamers.

Well according to information out there they did get permition to tweak Windows to make it much more sutible for gaming handhelds.

Everyone that is scared they can’t play the most popular online games on their handheld. So theoretically a massive demographic according to research (most pc gamers play older live service titles) done but whether they would want a gaming handheld is a different question.
Gateway 2000 with Windows 95. I do not know which specific configuration (I was too young). I do remember the games I had though: Tyrian 2000, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, C&C, HoM3, I-war, Flight Simulator 95, LBA 2 and Jersey Devil. Half of them were copies I got from a neighbour that owned a cd-r.

One day it will reach 5%.

Well the year of the Linux desktop will have to wait a few years considering Valve time.

It is a move to decouple from the USA for critical infrastructure. They don’t want to be in a similar situation as Ukraine in any potential conflict. Where the USA just says we will no longer allow you to use our computer chips for war with Russia.
You do have the Renault 4 and 5 that are reasonably priced. And I think Fiat also has a reasonably priced model.
