She loves stealing my seat when I get up. I've nearly sat on her so many times.

Both of my old cats loved to inhabit the space between my lower back and the backrest of the chair. Often they would just roll up an try to wriggle their way in until I scooted up.

She used to do that but lately she prefers the whole chair.

It must be so warm and snuggly in there. My cat does this too. Also sleeps in that spot when I’m curled up on my side in bed. Right on the bum.

You are her personal seat-warmer. It is one of your many purposes as her owner slave. Every time you sit down, it’s because you’re doing your job of warming a piece of furniture for your cat to enjoy later. Honestly, it’s kind of weird how you keep trying to go back to spots you’ve already warmed. Don’t you get it? It’s not cold yet, you don’t need to come back to it. Now go get a treat for your master, I can hear her meowing.

    Don’t Christopher her

I almost sat on a tiny dog once and if I hadn’t reacted in the last microsecond I’d snap its neck for sure.

I’ve had the same problem with my kitty. My solution: grab a second desk chair. When I get up and he steals my seat, I simply grab the other chair to sit in when I return. Has worked out well so far!
