Because we like to let things cause serious, widespread, irreparable harm before we even think about standing up to the rich.
Probably because most of the world still has ethics and humanity.
Our country is just greedy, mentally ill, sociopaths in charge and everyone is fine with it
It’s the “everyone is fine with it” bit that’s the problem. The institutions that are supposed to operate as checks and balances on the ability of the president have simply have failed to do their jobs, and no one’s picking up on their behalf.
Other Western nations have had their fair share of idiot leaders, but everyone just makes fun of them, including the media, and then eventually their approval ratings drop so low they’re forced to resign, or they kicked out by their own party for the purposes of self-preservation.
It is often said that Boris Johnson was the UK’s Donald Trump, but not really because other than whatsherface no one liked Boris Johnson, he certainly didn’t have an army of sycophant idiots hanging on his every word. Everyone just laughed at him, constantly called him out on his BS, and eventually his own party turned on him, or risk getting booted out of parliament for an entire generation.
It’s true. The people were able to fend off could in S Korea and Brazil.
But people don’t seem to realize the level of background investigation and psychological exams that someone like a president goes through or has done to them.

Americans don’t have effective social safety nets. They are eliminating a lot of what we do have. I guess we have to pay for Israel’s socialized health care, education, and genocide somehow.

A country with a service based economy is allowing tech bros and billionaires to ram a new technology down the throats of the entire population with little to no oversight. People have already lost jobs because of layoffs after their company replaced them with ai. Americans are worried about their livelihood and the dangers the data centers pose to their communities.
The American stock market is disproportionately inflated by AI. Without it, the recession would be evident. When number go up, people keep jobs. When numbers go down, unaffected management lays people off just in case.
Also, no worker protections, boss could decide tomorrow you’ve been replaced with an AI. Whether it works or not is his problem but feeding yourself and family remains yours.
The AI industry is:
- Propping up our entire economy and retirement savings
- removing our ability to buy electronics of any kind
- designed to replace workers without a safety net
- Designed to watch us all and filter our informarion
So, with the fascist government’s help, they’re building a giant pantopticon while taking away our information freedom, while they siphon away whatever wealth we have until we can’t live anymore, under the threat of total and permanent annihilation if we make it fail.
Yeah, they’re turning the whole country into a concentration camp. If they keep power, expect Border controls. Why do you think ICE gets more money than all other agencies?

It’s not really capable of that except in a few tasks. For programmers, a lot of companies have overhired over Covid and have been looking for excuses to downsize without looking bad to investors, especially with the economy in recession. AI is mainly a convenient excuse for that

I think Americans can clearly see conservative leaders and oligarchs want to use AI to oppress us.
We have way fewer consumer and worker safeguards, not to mention seemingly unrestricted political ads. All the use of AI to imitate political candidates has been very dystopian.
It’s because we have the worst possible people to steward us though this transition that is being forced on us.
Zero protections for employees paired with the fact most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck while the C suite keeps firing people to pay for their AI adoption. I understand why Americans are concerned.
It’s cuz we know how terrible we are. And we’re the ones leading it.
Americans have more exposure to AI. The rest of the world will come around.

Stephen “PeeWee Himmler” Miller has said that he wants to reduce the population to $100 million, about a 70% reduction. They are already looking for ways to eliminate people, they aren’t going to block any vehicle that helps achieve that objective.
Other countries are positive that their nations won’t use AI to deliberately murder much of their population. We are positive that they will.
They should be more worried about Super Intelligence.
