YSK Costco does independent testing of their meat.
YSK California has the most stringent food safety regulations in the country, going above and beyond what the fed requires. Thank fuck I live here and not somewhere that does the bare minimum required of them (which, rn, is doing nothing at all).

I mean, definitely read the article, 167000 lbs, isn’t very much. I imagine that a certain area around north Carolina is affected, but not much more then that.
I think the best advice is to do both: check what meat if affected and whether that might include the meat you’re looking at. If you’re not sure, maybe skip meat for a change. You can do without.
167 metric tonnes doesnt seem like that much in the grand scheme things, but ultimately that could at worst kill hundreds of people.

I would assume officials warning this is a “nationwide” issue means exactly all of the US.
There are lot numbers for specific products, it’s not all meat and it’s not distributed evenly across the country.
There specifically is no list of lot numbers. There is a list of labels by the distributor, but the warning clearly states stores might have repackaged.

Well it is and it isn’t. They have bought up all the packing plants creating a monopoly and an artificial constraint/bottle neck. So the billionaires set the prices which was already putting small ranchers out of business. Trump 2.0 has just exacerbated this process by making the inputs way more expensive.
And do what with it…? If it collapses like that, they have a worthless property.
It will never completely collapse. There will still be a demand for meat and now they can set whatever price they want because they control the entire supply.

Hello fellow americans! You guys doing OK over there? Things are pretty good here in Spain, language issues my biggest obsticle. But hey, you let me know when we americans are winning ok? Are we winning yet?
How’d you get out? My wife and I would love to move, but my career isn’t exactly in high demand.
I’m afraid that my career is in high demand. I’m on a highly qualified worker visa at least until i’m married or hit 5 years (5 years will be first at this rate). Found the role through relocate dot me, had my CV (not resume) all set, lots of “will relocate to EU” messages in there too and was willing to take a huge (75%) paycut. I also sold everything, paid off all my debts and basically moved with just a few suitcases and my dog.
My advice, it looks glamours but life is not always that way. If you can work it out, take 30-60 days in the country you think you want to live in first. Not vacation, live there. Go shopping (food, clothes, furniture), talk to neighbors, ride transit, get a local cell phone number… everything reasonable. I thrived at this, my Ex did not. And yes, ex… we had other big problems but that was the issue that ended everything. In the end it just took time to land the role and I am happy I did - I want this for a very long time, just didn’t expect to be single :lol:
Shit’s okay in Australia too, we got problems but not openly toxic meat problems.

Wasn’t there JUST an outbreak of cyclospora? There are regularly issues with lettuce giving people the shits and more, hear about it at least annually lol. But hey I haven’t got the shits from meat OR veggies, except that one time I ate a chicken calzone I left in my trunk overnight. That was a nice lesson on the “danger zone” of foods …
