Bro I have no idea wtf y’all are doing. I checked mine after having an Amazon account for maybe 10-15 years?

It said “may have one cat” and “prefers tabletop games”

That’s literally it. Wtf are you people doing

Same here. The account I used for years said “is used for 2 people” and 10 variations of “owns fish and buys aquarium equipment” because i frequently bought aquarium stuff I couldn’t find locally.

Also had my model of car - because i put it in their car filter thing when i was looking for accessories

I don’t know whether to be disappointed or relieved.

All Amazon seems to know is that I build high-end computers and have a specific model of TV … because I bought computer parts and a TV from Amazon. The only slightly funny thing is that for some reason they think I have an X-box? Oh … wait … just realized. Also bought an xbox-style game controller for my gaming PC.

So … yeah. Either Amazon is rushing to clean this shit up before people see it, or I’ve just been good enough with online privacy that Amazon’s only information about me comes from actual Amazon purchases.

I rather give China my money directly rather than through the middle man.
AliExpress for the win even with the customs tax (3€ per group).

  • Mine shows nothing. I don’t use Amazon much in the last few years, but I used to use it a lot. I have never used an Alexa or other assistant things they have. Get the feeling this data is mostly collected through Alexa and other AI things they offer, and not how you actually shop.

Is this a US thing? I just requested my entire advertiser profile from Amazon in Canada, and I don’t see any of these statements, just who bought my profile and the topics I am associated with (like “Automotive”).

The point about flatulence is probably just linked to frequently buying a product to treat gas, like beano or whatever. I have stuff in mine like “maintains consistent spicy noodle inventory”, and “actively trains and cares for a dog”.

I think they buy data from other stores. A buddy bought a bunch of craft supplies in person at a store and “bulk arts and crafts” showed up on his amazon thing shortly after

Mine knew what kind of batteries I liked and that I have a garage.

Good luck making money off that.

I made sure to delete the info they had for my account. There wasn’t anything unusual they had listed, but also, if they want any of my personal information, they can ask me for it, name what they’re willing to pay me, and we can negotiate from there.
