A US president can, apparently, do whatever he wants without consequences.

If only a president that wasn’t a moronic, self serving asshole had thought of that trick.

You can stop having federal taxes taken out of your paycheck. Just set whatever amount aside in an interest bearing account until tax time next year and pay it then.

You can at least deny them the money until then, and maybe earn a little interest on it instead.

    No shit?

Exactly what happened is that Trump filed a bogus lawsuit then his crony at the Justice Department arranged for a bogus “settlement” so that Trump could get a slush fund from which to dole out money to other cronies.

It’s blatant and overt fraud, and both of them should go to prison.

But it will only cause him to be impeached if the GOP turds in the house and the senate grow a conscience and get onboard with, ya know, upholding the Constitution.

Recent polls have Democrats winning in a landslide in November.

And we’re still months away with Trump fucking up more every day.

And not just ruining America, but making the lives of his supporters harder and then saying he doesn’t care.

Trump forgot the first rule of dictators, never openly betray your base.

The less committed Trump supporters are actually abandoning him. And that’s wild. It gives me hope.

The true believers will never leave, but there aren’t enough of them to force everyone else to follow. They will try, but likely fail, much like Orban failed in Hungary.

Elons ex just whistleblowed that Elon stole the 2024 election for Trump. Trump also said it in the start, some quote about Elon knowing election computers.

I even believe that he created in 2020, and that is how he is so sure biden did too. Because how else could he lose when he was cheating? But i think he learned that he needs to cheat more 🤷‍♂️

If ANYONE think there will be a democratic landslide while Trump and his cronies have the power, they are a fool. America is less of a democracy than Russia by now.

They literally fired and replaced anyone in the system that has previously disrupted their attempts. Just like they fired and replaced anyone in the top military brass who would have stopped an invasion of Iran. They fon’t care about appearances, they care about getting their mass surveillance/execution system completed before the rioting begins.

They did. But open corruption is not appealing to any except the most devout Trump supporter.

The other factor is that they fired anyone competent.

Peter Thiel, who is obsessed with the antichrist and completely convinced that it’s all real, and also somehow Greta Thunberg.

Yes, the mass surveillance is a major issue, but without competency behind it, it’s less dangerous. More destructive, but less dangerous if that makes sense, because it’s easier to break things than build things.

Trump forgot the first rule of dictators, never openly betray your base.

This doesn’t hold true for Trump because his base doesn’t have the mental capacity the good lord gave to turkeys: Trump can hurt them and insult them all he wants, they come back for more.

Don’t bet on the Democrats winning the midterms too fast: if Trump and his henchmen don’t rig the elections, I wouldn’t put it past his dumb MAGA minions to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

20-30% of the voting population will never wake up, but signs are saying that the less committed are actually waking up.

Also, Trump’s die hard supporters have never turned out in droves when he isn’t directly on the ballot.

Trump is still trying to rig things, but you need a believable amount of votes in the first place to pull that off.

There’s only so much you can do to rig an election. You need it to be close enough that you can lie believably. The polls say that it will not be. At that point you need to basically launch a military occupation to keep power. Trump will certainly try it, but I’m not sure that he’s still popular enough to pull it off.

Currently, Trump is openly calling for Republicans lead states to explicitly gerrymander their congressional districts, and it’s being allowed by both Congress and the Supreme Court. At the same time, Virginia had a popularly passed set of congressional district maps struck down by the very same court.

Quite literally, every branch of government is putting their thumb on the scale for trump. Every branch of the government is corrupt beyond repair, and needs to be removed and restructred in such a way that this can never happen again.

The thing about a gerrymander is that it can backfire, you’re diluting votes of both your opponents and your supporters. If you get the ratios wrong, or say, lose a lot of support from the less committed side of your base, then the gerrymandered district goes to the opposition.

I believe it was struck down by the Virginia Supreme Court, was appealed, but hasn’t gone to the US Supreme Court yet.

Actually, never mind, I just looked and apparently on 5/15, the US Supreme Court declined to take the case. So yeah, they didn’t “strike it down” per se, but the outcome is essentially the same.
