Gonna try and pull a Putin with Trump?

Take Trump as his running mate, then if he wins resign so Trump can be President again.

That is against the constitution. The 12th amendment says if a person is ineligible for president they are also ineligible for VP

Only thing possible is running for congress and then being speaker of the house, then both VP and President resign.

Ah you’re right. I had to go back and read the specific text. Been so long since I have sat down to read any of it I had forgotten that was covered.

        I stand corrected

There’s still merit to what you said. Trump is a convicted felon. That alone he should have been impeached and removed but they let it slide. If they let that go who’s to say they don’t let other stuff go too.

Oh fuck, I need to keep my wallet closed. Last time a person who obviously cannot get elected became the GOP candidate, I bet a lot of money against his win. :(

Fortunately, I did the same 4 years earlier when the same happened :)

Ok so that’s the plan… Shithead who is obviously better (lol) than orangeshit is gonna run. That guarantees that we’ll have another 4 years of the orange shit.

This is terrible. Will there be any businesses still solvable? Any economy still alive?

The difference between Trump and Pete the drunk is for all Trumps faults, he is a charismatic speaker (threw up in my mouth a little saying a nice thing about him)

I’ve never understood why people think that. Most of what comes out of his mouth makes absolutely no sense. If I was to act completely impartial, and forget everything I know about the monster, listening to him wouldn’t make me think “What a charismatic guy”. He sounds like he’s 2 brain cells away from having a stroke.

Yeah I don’t understand it at all. Dude has the charisma of a used cars salesman (way too confident and energetic) with the eloquence of a toddler and somehow that makes him a demigod to his base ? (and I do have several examples of people I politically and/or personally despise who actually have charisma)

I think you’re 100% correct that it’s used car salesman energy. His base doesn’t understand what he’s saying (because he makes no sense), but they can cherry-pick parts they understood and craft positions that they agree with over them. They hear what they want to in an overly confident energetic way. It’s why they think he “says it like it is,” even though he just vomits words.

That’s giving them too much credit. Between Trump and social media, the shitbags successfully normalized (and commoditized) pride in being a shitbag. Once suffrage for women and “the negro” was normalized, there was a certain line that was toed in public. If you crossed that line all your fellow shitbags would distance themselves to avoid the blast radius of press coverage and public outrage. Politicians were notorious for this.

Fast forward to today. Trump is a shitty person in power who can be as shitty as he wants with no consequences. His party runs on grievance politics rooted in long simmering resentment. His very existence unites them because he is crass, uncultured, uneducated, and untouchable. Their role model is nothing but grievances, croneyism, financial fraud, and kid diddling. The first is the only thing that matters. The second and third are hand waved as his right for being successful. The kid diddling is being repeatedly buried in the press cycle because it’s one of the few things that can still unite the country and turn you into a pariah.

A lot of the rural Trump voters I know had made being uneducated a key pillar of their personal identity even before 2015. Those are the people who think he’s a charismatic speaker.

The urban and suburban ones held their noses and voted for him because “at least he’s not a Godless Democrat.” They don’t listen to what he says, but they vote for him anyway.

Yes, now it’s absolute nonsense, but back in 2016 and earlier he was a lot more coherent, and the racists ate it up.

I think next PM would be a Democrat rather than a Republican. I am not American so I may be wrong but I just feel that it would be happening.
