A tenet of Taoism is that nothing is constant and everything changes. We can have peace and be clear-minded by moving with, around, even redirecting the changes, rather than directly resisting them.
I’m not a taoist, but I think that’s pretty damn wise.
I got a tick bite in my dick hole two weeks ago. Five days later I got a fever that wouldn’t go away for days. They now say I have Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The doxycycline makes me vomit every time I think about food.
I’m so ready for some zen sex.

Deserve? No. That’s silly. Accept? Yes.
It’s possible they were mis-applying a non-Zen concept that because of reincarnation, each life is about experiencing things, both good and bad. So bad things are things you signed up for in this life to see what it’s like.
Or, if they meant “deserved,” that’s way more juju karma magic stuff, in some viewpoints.
Two great options to choose from!
Nah fuck that. Don’t accept material conditions, apply weird morality to them!
Anything can be a sex thing if you’re not a coward.
I prefer the “oh well, it was bound to happen to somebody” approach to life.
